Turns out working a full time job, a part time job, running a monthly comedy contest and a full Corporate Christmas Comedy schedule can be a bit tiring.
I’m mastering the 11 minute nap, and a couple of those a day are allowing me to get by on 5-6 hours of sleep per night. Somehow I accidentally ended up buying a fuzzy pink pillow as a goof in a friend’s online auction and that thing has been a huge help at the office.
Corporate show on Saturday was fascinating. My corporate shows tend to start soft, as people finish digesting and stop talking and realize the entertainment is taking place. Then the A-1 material in the 2nd half convinces them I was funny for the whole set.
Saturday was the reverse. Somehow I managed to start out very hot, and flame out at the halfway point. It’s proof that you can never take anything for granted on stage, and every single performance is an organic original experience unto itself.
This weekend I’ll be a road warrior, doing shows in Regina & Naicam. I do enjoy the road. The long spans of highway open the opportunity for deep thoughts or full on rock outs to 1980’s metal bands.
Tomorrow – an update on my plans for No Eat 2018
