The amount of energy I've put into comedy in the last week and a half is more than the last 6 months. The little things like wordsmithing and fine editing, soliciting advice, reviewing tape and rehearsing. When you put that on top of my usual 65 hour work week it's a bit much.
Jerry Seinfeld is equally proud of how funny Seinfeld was, but also how hard it was to do. He takes full ownership of the challenge and feels he has earned everything he's got. And he's right trying to make something out of nothing is tough work.
As I've said several times, Melissa Murray has really stepped up to help me on this one, and I have a feeling I'll owe her something special on my return. I plan to use the travel day tomorrow to sleep and charge my battery, because once my feet hit American soil, it's go time.
I'm going to comedy clubs, taking an improv workshop, meeting a very prominent writer and trying to get as much stage/comedy time as possible. I encourage you to please tune in here and on my twitter @comicmattmurray because I'll be posting as much content as possible through the trip.
